History

It is located in Alcanede, relatively close to Santarém, the whole reason for this site being, I am talking about the company Valsabor whose work objective is the slaughter and processing of meat, having started its activity in 1989. Since that year it has been through some phases of change, both in its physical and leadership structure.

Therefore, it is important to mention that it was acquired by the current Manager, Mr. Fernando Vicente in August 2002 at a time when it was not doing well financially and even in its structure.

In terms of numbers, the entity has a Share Capital of €4,000,000 and the support of around 100 employees to satisfy market requests with the quality and deadlines requested. In relation to sales, the value in 2010 was around €40,000,000.

It is important to mention that we have two slaughter lines, one for pigs and another for sheep/goats. Of these, Pigs has to be highlighted as we are talking about an innovative Slaughter line recently acquired by the company’s staff and which stands out from others due to the quality of the final product (Pork/meat) and its speed, we are talking about slaughtering 300 pigs per hour, making it one of the first to be implemented in Portuguese slaughterhouses.

This line allows us to reach unexplored markets as the speed of the slaughter process, the hygiene conditions, the reduction of animal stress to zero and the extreme perfection of the final product are evident, in this way we are prepared to serve each more and more customers from the North to the South of the country and across borders, both in fresh and processed products.

It should also be noted that the company Valsabor has made every effort to be at the level of the best competitors so that those who benefit from this are the consumers, they do deserve this competitiveness, as it certainly brings them benefits since in such a competitive market how much meat earns whoever is better, whoever offers quality.

This quality that Valsabor offers forces competitors in the sector to present themselves on the market in an equivalent way in terms of meat quality and this aspect brings great benefits to the consumer, so we guarantee that our evolution will be synonymous with food quality for the National market.

In this way, we count on the support of all our suppliers, employees, customers and especially consumers to be able to increasingly increase our market share so that we can offer our customers products with superior quality with each passing day, meeting the emerging needs and eating habits of consumers.
